In our Local Government Video Series we explore how local government functions and how we, as responsive citizens, can engage it. Most videos in this series are available in English, Afrikaans and IsiXhosa.
The content of this series is based on local government legislation that applies to all municipalities in South Africa. However, the series was originally developed in partnership with the Western Cape Provincial Government and the City of Cape Town to upskill municipal and city councillors and to enable and encourage citizens to participate in municipal processes. As such, the terminology used may differ slightly from that used in other provinces. Some of the videos were created in 2016 and should therefore be viewed in the context of that time frame. We try to update the content of the videos as often as possible.
